Momentum Reset Newsletter: 8th Edition

Good Morning Bestie

Hey Bestie,

It has been a wild past couple of days and there are so many things I want to share with you. Where do I even begin?! First, I had the opportunity to go to a podcast convention by myself and it was the best decision I made. Thank you to my bestie Koco for gifting me the ticket because it was not in the spending plan to go to an event. The convention was hosted here in Orlando and it was called PodFest Expo. The amount of trainings, activations, and networking opportunities was unreal. I thought I would be more nervous to go on my own but I could not get over the fact that I was ABLE to go. To be in a point in my career I have the control to decide and go to an even with my time made me think back to a time I always had to request time off or ask permission in advance to attend. There was no explanation needed, it was my choice to go. That is a feeling I will not take for granted and I know I am in a season of embracing this new norm.

If I could summarize what I learned at PodFest was:

1. Success loves speed- Do not sit on an idea, take action and decide. Sometimes we get too focused on the detail we ignore the fact that we will have the opportunity to make it better.

2. Give yourself mini digestible goals. Whether it is to talk to 3 new people or apply a new resource. Go into the event with a goal that will move the needly forward with your overall goals.

3. Going to events alone is a VIBE. I had the opportunity  to be on my schedule and limit any distractions around me. I stuck to my schedule and that felt so good to see myself step out of my comfort zone and not depend on others to lean on and make conversations.

I highly recommend you plan a solo event this year for yourself bestie. There is no amount of stress that I can put on with the importance of investing in you. Don't you know that you are the biggest prize, last time I checked you are living in YOUR world. The life you are living is the reality you are making for yourself. Why wouldn't you want to spend the energy in pouring back into you and it will look different for everyone. That is perfectly fine because you start to invest in your skills, career, relationship, finances, and the list can go on...you will start to see what is important.

It is kind like me crashing out over ULTA BEAUTY WORLD tickets. It is still a sore subject, you would think I am upset about not getting the $2K worth of products when in reality, that was a ROOM I wanted to be in. To invest in my connections. To have the audacity to be seen. I know everything is always happening for me not to me. Some way shape or form I will be in the right room because WHY not. Was there anyone else that is still recovering from the Ulta Beauty World shenanigans?

Anyways that is off topic, the moral of this newsletter is to invest in you and there are an endless amount of versions of what investing can look like bestie.
