Momentum Reset Newsletter: 1st Edition 

 

Good Morning Bestie

Welcome to the Momentum Reset Newsletter besties!. This newsletter has been a long time coming. When I originally came up with the idea, I had no idea what this was going to look like. But done is better than perfect. This is the newsletter that not only will give you the inspiration to thrive but tools to actually utilize in the week.Mindset shifts and what is going on behind the scene of this growing life.  Imagine your weekly dose of Good Morning Bestie but the accountability of Momentum to get your life together. Enjoyyyyy bestie.

 

A little story time on where TF I have been. Life has been LIFE-ING but I can't complain because there has been so much growth happening. With moving into a house from my studio apartment, to having my car break down, a major change happening at the salon( did I mention that I also do hair as my full time career), not recording the podcast, picking up a night job. It seemed like I was all over the place. Falling back into the burn out cycle of not being intentional with time. After multiple crash outs, I had to make some hard decisions. Because hard choices, easy life. Easy choices, hard life. I was starting to get hard on myself because I was not showing up as the woman I know I can be. Having all these big goals and decision paralysis, doubt, and fear trying to take me out. Not to mention managing a schedule that did not feel aligned. 

 

What shifted- Well, I got sick of my excuses. Waiting for the "right time" to take action. Playing all the inspirational tracks, morning routines, reading the books. But I was choosing to stay in the same mindset. Lack and worry. Stressing about the HOW (I talk about this all in the first episode of Season III). 

 

It's funny when you are so stressed about how things are going to work, you are blocking yourself from possible ideas and it is a BIG ass limitation on you. Once I started relaxing and surrender to the fact that I know that everything is always going to work. Things move in my favor and I don't even have to try. That is when all the ideas started flowing in. Success loves speed and it is always leaving clues for you. Fast forward to December, a newsletter idea came and TA DA the Momentum Reset was born. There is so much more to share, I am grateful for you to be here and to see where this journey takes us! 

 

Aligned AF

A quick mindset shift meets micro-habit magic. Each week you’ll get a challenge, prompt, or question to reflect on — so you can take one aligned action toward the version of you that doesn’t quit on herself.

The question of the week: Have I been creating or consuming more? If I wanted to create more, where would I start? 

      • Creating= Focusing on your life, building your business, spending quality with loved ones. Especially this holiday season. It is easy to get stuck in the comfort of doom-scrolling because you think that there is nothing exciting going on in your life. What I want to challenge you with bestie is to find three things in your everyday routine that either relaxes, brings excitement, or straight up happiness. Is it your cooked dinner, going to the gym, walking your dog, reading a book? That is CREATING. You are doing things in your life that helps you not worry about what others are doing because comparison is a dead place. Now, what are you going to create more in your life this week!

      • Consuming= Doom scrolling, worried about what others are doing, comparing yourself to strangers on the internet. How are you suppose to thrive if that is occupying your mind?! 9/10 the reason why you are defaulting to consuming is because there is a small part of you that feels that what you want is not achievable. Your brain is wired to keep you safe. it does not like change. So when you decide to step out of your comfort zone it will try to find ways to get you back to old habits (I.e doom scrolling, binge watching Netflix, procrastinating task that will support you). I am so guilty of this bestie. I would not be writing this newsletter if I haven't experienced this before.
